Ajay Devgan will speak in five different languages in his upcoming film 'Himmatwala'.
In a particular scene, Devgn will speak in Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Tamil in the remake version of Sajid Khan's 'Himmatwala' in a particular scene where Tamannaah (leading lady) gets some goons to beat him up. All those guys belong to different regions. One is from Punjab, another is from Tamil Nadu, another from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bengal," Sajid said.
"They challenge Ajay to a duel in their own languages and that's when he speaks to them in their respective languages. It's not just a word, it's an entire dialogue," he said.
Apparently, Ajay also underwent a special training to get the accent and the right tone of these languages. "I got a tutor on the sets," Sajid said.
Almost every Bollywood fan is aware of the fact that the 80′s classic Himmatwala (1983) is being remade by director Sajid Khan. It stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannah, who will be re-enacting the roles which were played by Jitendra and Sridevi for the original version. However, for the soundtrack to this film, music composers Sajid-Wajid have roped in musicians who have worked with the likes of Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, Bappi Lahiri and R.D. Burman in order to enhance the 80′s feel to it. These musicians will form part of an orchestra for the recording of this album, rather than Sajid-Wajid adopting the typical electronic sound which is regularly in use today.
Sajid Khan confirmed this in a statement to the Indian media and had this to say. “Whether it is Sajid-Wajid, Sameer, Vashuji (Bhagnani) or I, we genuinely felt that organic sound of an orchestra would do a lot of justice to the music of Himmatwala since it is based in 1983. When I met these musicians, they were so happy because they hadn’t been to a recording studio for more than a decade. I got so much of ‘dua’ for them since they too were reliving the days gone by.”
